How long does a repair take?

It depends on the repair that needs to be done. A display replacement, for instance, usually takes between 1 to 3 hours. A battery replacement and charging port repair will also take 1 to 3 hours. When the device has water damage it will take a minimum of 3 days to repair. A board repair will also take a minimum of 3 days.

How long is the warranty?

On new phones, tablets, laptops, and watches, a 2-year warranty is issued with the purchase of each device. On any repair done at our shops, a 3-month warranty is issued upon collection of the device. In the case that the device was water damaged and a chemical treatment has been done, a 1-month warranty is given upon collection.

Are the parts we use original?

All Samsung parts used are original parts. iPhone batteries are also original. Xiaomi and Huawei parts are also original. Other iPhone parts are licenced parts. Licensed parts are parts that are exact replicas of the iPhone parts. The parts we use are tested extensively and are of excellent quality and from reliable sellers. When it comes to OnePlus phones, we are able to send them abroad to OnePlus where a quote for the cost of the repairs will be sent to us and communicated to you. If the cost is agreed upon, it will be repaired by OnePlus and sent back to us from where you will be able to collect the phone.

Do we only fix mobile phones?

No, we repair a number of different devices. Our repairs range from mobile phones to tablets, laptops, and Apple watches. If you would like to repair a particular device, please contact one of our outlets to see if it can be repaired.

Is the inspection of a device free?

Inspections for all mobile phones are done for free, however, inspections done for laptops and certain tablets are done at a cost of €25.

What does a chemical treatment entail?

When a mobile phone has water damage, a chemical treatment in needed. Our technicians will need to use specific chemicals on the phone to try and clear the corrosion on the phone from the water damage. When the phone is brought to one of our shops, we ask for a deposit of €25 for the chemicals used in the chemical treatment. This is non-refundable. If the phone is repaired after the chemical treatment, a further €45 is paid for the repair which will come to a total of €65. If the phone is not repaired after the chemical treatment, there will be no further charge.

How is data handled when a device is left for repair?

When a device is held for repair, one of our sales representatives will always give the client the SIM Card. No SIM Cards are allowed to be kept inside the phone whilst the phone is being repaired. This is done in order to ensure that that your data is kept secure. When a data transfer is needed, no data will be transferred prior to obtaining a signed approval from the client. All data will be handled in a professional environment.

Can we do a data retrieval from a phone?

When it comes to a data retrieval, each case is treated differently according to the situation. In most cases, if the phone is broken and our technicians are not able to reach the data, it will be fixed temporarily, and the data will be retrieved and put on another phone or external storage device.

What if the phone is still under warranty?

When a phone is brought to us and it is still under warranty, a procedure needs to be followed. If no physical damage is found on the phone (it has been dropped, water damaged, etc.), our team will talk to the supplier since we are not able to open the phone on site. We are not able to do this since when the phone is opened without authorisation from the supplier, the warranty is automatically voided. When the go-ahead is given to us by the supplier, our technicians will be able to repair the phone. When the phone is repaired the guarantee will be continue if no physical damage is found on the phone.

Will repairs damage any of the data?

With most repairs, such as a display replacement, charging port replacement, and battery replacement, no damage or contact will be done to the data. However, if there are issues with the motherboard or software of the phone, there is a risk that the data will be lost. The client will always be advised of any risk regarding the loss or damage to the data. We will always do our best to save the data, however, it is always recommended that the client has a backup of their data in the case that it may be lost or damaged.

Where are the devices taken for repair?

All devices which are brought to any one of our outlets (Swatar, Qormi, Naxxar, Birkirkara) are sent to our Swatar outlet, which is our service centre, and where we have technicians on site. When a phone is brought to our Qormi, Naxxar or Birkirkara outlets, it is sent beck there once it is repaired, where it can be collected.

Do we offer pick-up and delivery services?

Yes. If you have a device which needs to be repaired, we can arrange for our courier to pick it up at your preferred location and deliver it back to you once it has been repaired. This will come at no additional cost. To arrange a pick-up of your device please contact one of our outlets via Facebook messenger or call the outlet, where you will be asked for some information on the device, your contact details and address.
